63 Woodbridge Road...

Well, after almost a year of living with Mark's parents after moving from Denver to Connecticut, we have finally moved into our new house...and we love it! Its a ranch-style house, with two bedrooms, an office, 1 and a half baths, a kitchen, dining room, living room, and bonus sun-porch all on the main level. We have a great backyard for the kids, including lots of trees for privacy and a flat grassy backyard for playing (which we didn't have in Bailey). Its a great neighborhood, and we live in-between two teachers actually. We also have an unfinished basement which we have plans for eventually. We are still putting decorations up on the walls, but it is slowly becoming a home for us. Two weeks left until the school year starts, so I have a little more time to finish putting things in their place! Here are a few pictures...

Almost a year in CT...

Well, its been a crazy year...new jobs for Holly and Mark, a new daycare for Leah and Marcus, living with the in-laws, adjusting to the East Coast, etc...Full of ups and downs, but mostly ups! We finally bought a house in Bristol, CT, in May, about 4 miles from Mark's parents' house and less than a mile from Mark's sister's house. We have not moved in yet, as we are working on re-doing the main bathroom and cleaning it up before moving in. The bathroom is about 90% complete, so we're hoping to be moving in in the next month. Once we have all of our stuff in the house, I will post some picture so everyone can see.

In the meantime, I have finished probably my toughest school year yet, as well as 6 credits that I was missing for my Health CT teacher certification. I am now planning on enjoying the rest of my summer until the school year will start again. I have not been able to find a job closer to Bristol yet (my current commute is an hour each way) but I have applied in many districts and keep hoping that I will find a perfect job that will cut down my commute.

Mark is very happy with the small, family-run electrical company that he has started working for, and just received a 10% raise, which comes at the perfect time as we are starting with mortgage payments again. He is very happy with the company...less stress and less hours than his 8 years at McBride. I am so happy that he was able to find a company that was a better fit for him finally.

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful summer and look forward to visits out East from family and friends (Julie, hint hint!).

A New Chapter

Well, we have now somewhat settled in Connecticut. We have been living with Mark's parents in Bristol while waiting for our house to sell in Colorado. We finally got an offer about a month ago, and are scheduled to close on November 15th. Hopefully all will go smoothly so that would be one less detail that we need to worry about. Plus, with the market being so bad, we were hoping to sell before the winter season.

Both Mark and I started new jobs the day after Labor Day...Holly as a Health teacher at The Bridge Academy in Bridgeport and Mark as a Journeyman Electrician for Ace Electric. We are both enjoying our jobs and feel blessed to have found them so easily. Marcus and Leah are in a great daycare center called "Little Angels" about 5 minutes from the house and are loving that and thriving in the new environment. They are about to turn 2 on November 12 and we can't believe that time has gone by so fast. It seems like just yesterday that I was in the hospital with a HUGE stomach waiting to see our twins for the first time. Now I can't really call them babies anymore - they are getting so grown-up and are saying new words everyday. They are a ton of fun, but also a ton of work!

We miss Colorado and all of our friends there, including Matt and Kerri, but are thankful to be here in Connecticut with Mark's parents and Jenny, Andy, and Jack and Grace (Mark's sister and her family). Marcus and Leah have had a lot of fun getting to know their cousins and playing with them every Wednesday when Aunt Jenny takes care of them. We are also very thankful for Grandma Jean and Grandpa Terry, who get Marcus and Leah up in the mornings, get them dressed, fed, and off to daycare for Mark and I, who have to leave early in the morning to get to work.

We look forward to Thanksgiving when Grandma Linda, Grandpa Neal, and Uncle Rob will be coming to visit us...should be a wonderful weekend of spending time with family. We wish Matt and Kerri could be with us as well, but they will be spending the holiday in Colorado.

Connecticut, here we come!!!

Well, it's finally happening...we are officially moving to CT! I got hired as a Health teacher at a charter school in Bridgeport (7th-12th grade) and will start as a long-term sub until I can finish my CT certification (take two classes and pass three tests). Hope to have those done by end of September.

Saturday August 12 is the moving day...we have movers coming to pack up our house for us, load it on a truck, and drive it to Bristol. That morning Jean (my mother-in-law) and I will be flying the twins to CT, and Mark and his dad will be driving our Honda, Timber (our dog), and a few things across the country.

We are excited, anxious, nervous, stressed, overwhelmed...I could go on and on. One stresser is that we haven't sold the house yet - we hope and pray that it will happen soon! In the meantime we will be moving in with Mark's parents (thank goodness for them) and putting most of our stuff in storage until we can save up to buy a house.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers during the next few weeks!

Matt and Kerri's Wedding

Congratulations to my younger brother Matt...he got married to Kerri Kroll on Friday, April 21, 2006! We are so happy for the two of them, and the whole weekend was a lot of fun! They got married up in beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado, surrounded by many family and friends! Kerri looked absolutely gorgeous, and two of them couldn't have looked happier! Of course, there was a lot of tears shed on the Jeppson side...happy tears, of course! Matt and Kerri bought a cute little house in Denver, and are currently working on fixing it up!

My Very First Blog!!!

Well, I have to admit that I was very impressed after seeing my friend Kari's blogspot, so I decided to do my own. Figured since I'm off for the summer and home with the kids, I could find a little time during my day, between chasing kids around and changing diapers! :)

We are kind of in a holding pattern at the moment - house is still for sale, but we haven't had any offers. I am still running into some roadblocks in getting my Connecticut teacher license, so have been working on that - recently found out that I need to take two more classes in order to get certified in Elem. Ed. (my original license). So, that's frustrating. Good news for Mark, however - he can take the Electrical Licensing test in CT (originally we thought he would have to take some more classes also). So, that's a step in the right direction.

In the meantime, I have applied for several Assistant Principal jobs here in Denver, to keep my options open, and have already had two interviews. The first, a middle school position, I still haven't heard either way. The second, an elementary position, I found out that they chose someone else. So, looks like if we haven't sold the house by the end of summer, I will be returning to Lake Middle School for my 9th year, as a Student Advisor. We figure whatever is supposed to happen will happen...

But no matter what happens, I am looking forward to spending some quality time with Marcus and Leah, who are now almost 19-months-old!!! They keep me very busy, and are so much fun - I laugh everyday at things they do and say. We are having fun going for walks in the neighborhood, playing outside in the dirt (wish we had grass - man, do they get filthy), swimming, reading books, etc...I do have to admit, I look forward to their naptime - a little sanity for me everyday. Summer's here!!!
